THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF SANCTIONS IN THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY                                 IN THE SHORT AND LONG PERSPECTIVE

Background. Currently the problem of studying the impact of sanctions on the global economy in general and Russia in particular has actualized. Sanctions were imposed on Russia due to its position relative to the "Ukrainian question". And now the Western sanctions have expanded. In this regard, the study of the possible effects of sanctions on the economy of Russia is relevant. The aim of the present work is to reveal the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy in the short and long term perspective.
Materials and methods. Realization of the research tasks was achieved on the ba-sis of the analysis of the main provisions of the anti-crisis program for 2015-2016 adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as statistical data on key macroeconomic indicators. Depending on the characteristics of tasks to be com-pleted the authors used different methods of economic research: the abstract-logical one when setting the goals and objectives of the study; the comparative analysis in determination of the main provisions of the anti-crisis program adopted by the Gov-ernment of the Russian Federation and other issues addressed in the work; the induc-tive and deductive methods in identifying short-term and long-term effects of the sanctions on the Russian economy.
Results. The authors isolated and characterized the main short-term and long-term effects of the sanctions on the Russian economy; the main provisions of the an-ti-crisis program adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Conclusions. The study of the problem of imposition of sanctions on Russia al-lows to understand their causes, identify short-term and long-term consequences of sanctions for the country's economy, as well as to contribute to the development of anti-crisis measures to enhance the structural changes in the Russian economy.
